All our detectors are purpose built in-house specifically for X-ray diffraction as part of a complete diffractometer system. They have the fastest readout time of any CCD on the market, while their modular build also makes them quick and easy to service and maintain. With three detectors to choose from, we can optimize your system to give you excellent diffraction results, even for the weakest and most challenging crystals.
How to choose the right detector:
Optimize your diffractometer
- Agilent has 20 years of in-house experience in designing and manufacturing CCD detectors to the highest standards of reliability and quality.
- With patented modular construction and mounting technology, all our detectors are purpose built specifically for X-ray diffraction as part of a complete diffractometer system.
It is important to choose the right CCD detector to suit your purposes. The modular design of our systems means you can choose any one of our current three fast CCD detectors – Eos, Atlas or Titan – to be mounted on your Xcalibur, Gemini or SuperNova diffractometer.
Two of our most popular configurations are:
- Xcalibur E – single source diffractometer mounted with the Eos detector for fast, highly sensitive detection in small molecule experimentation
- Gemini A Ultra – dual source instrument with the Atlas, our fast, versatile detector with a large active area. Suitable for small molecule and protein crystallography
Agilent’s fast, intense SuperNova diffractometer can also be mounted with any of our CCD detectors, depending on your requirements. For example, the Eos would be suitable for a single-source Mova system for small molecule crystallography while the size of the Titan would make it an ideal choice for a single source system used exclusively for protein diffraction experiments. The Atlas is our ‘all rounder’ CCD detector, suitable for dual wavelength diffractometers that are used for a variety of small molecule and protein applications.
